Tray Decor – When it comes to home décor, all of us have a favourite. Some of us like wall hangings, some like boxes or cups and some even like lights. I on the other hand have always been fascinated with trays.
Yes, you heard me right. Trays. They come in all shapes, sizes, materials. And I cannot just get enough of it. I have for myself, used them everywhere in my house. I am sharing here some tips that may come handy for you too.
Small trays brighten up the corners or the neglected parts of your room. We all are left with spaces that we don’t know what to do with. A small tray is a boon for such places. Keep a drink, put your book, the odd hand cream or even the evening lamp.
On the contrary, these are all places where a large tray can make a statement. Kept either flat on the surface or even displayed against a wall. Whoever thought a tray was only to put things on, never saw these 😊
Yes, you cannot escape the original usage. Assemble all your knick-knacks on the bar cabinet, get your personal care products together or make a home for all the souvenirs you have collected all those years.
And why even just exposed surfaces. Imagine organising your drawers. I know you love me for this idea. But small trays can really make your life sorted!
However while you put things together, remember there always has to be a method to manage the madness. Sort the products size wise, create layers and coordinate the colours.
Admit it, it’s a nightmare to plan the servings when any guest arrives. Small bowls, quarter plates, spoons, napkins. Phew!
A tray comes to the rescue every, single time. Yes. Your centre table will never look like a mess. And guess what, after all the snacks have been polished, the tray still occupies centre of attention.
This is for all you B&B’s. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to welcome your guests with an assortment of chocolates, bottles of water, some personal care items, all packaged together on a nice tray. It just adds warmth and a touch of compassion.
As a parting note, one final tip when you are arranging your tray. Create layers of height. Form a colour vignette or palette. And don’t pack it up – leave some free space.
These small things go a long way in creating lasting impressions. After all it isn’t just a tray.
